Types of Handicare Lifts

Stairlifts fall into two basic categories: straight and curved. The type you need will depend upon the design of your staircase.

• Straight stairlifts are designed for a single flight of stairs that run in a straight line without any interruptions from landings, turns or bends.
• Curved stairlifts are designed for staircases that have at least one bend and/or travels across a landing.

Handicare also manufactures weatherproofed outdoor stairlifts, available for both straight and curved applications. Outdoor stairlifts are ideal if you have steps leading into your home as well as for porches, decks or gardens that may no longer be accessible due to outdoor walkways. 

Safety

Safety is our #1 priority. All Handicare stairlifts carry applicable worldwide safety certifications and include seatbelts for maximum safety while in transit. 
Besides having the stairlift user being in control of its movement, our stairlifts have what are called “hold to run” toggle controls, which will make the stairlift stop immediately if the button is released. Furthermore, all Handicare stairlifts are equipped with 7 safety sensors that will automatically – and immediately – stop the lift if anything is detected in its path. 
And lastly, all Handicare stairlifts include an “Emergency stop” button to immediately stop the stairlift if necessary.

Multiple floors – Multiple Handicare Stair Lift Solutions

Not all staircases are straight, which is why Handicare also manufactures curved stairlifts. The twists, turns and sometimes sharp corners of a curved or multi-level staircase simply requires the right customized solution – and ours are capable of navigating corners, traveling across landings and spinning up spiral staircases smoothly and safely.

• Riverside Stair Lifts

We offer two curved solutions: a single rail (Freecurve) or double rail (2000) style. The Freecurve single rail stairlift has a sleek and unobtrusive design with a variety of style and add-on options, including our proprietary Active Seat. The Active Seat option works similar to a lift chair, where the seat will gently support you as you are sitting down and standing up out of the stairlift, making it a great solution for those with joint and muscle pain. 

The 2000 double rail stairlift boasts the tightest track bends in the industry. Extremely versatile, the 2000 can be made to fit the most complex of staircase designs as well as being offered in an outdoor model. The double rail system allows for an extra-smooth, extra-safe ride.

The Handicare 2000 curved stairlift is a well established and versatile stairlift system with the tightest track bends available in the industry today. The 2000 can accommodate a wide range of stair configurations and will hug the edge of your staircase leaving you with more room.

This flexible and user-friendly curved stairlift can accommodate the most complex of staircases and the twin rail system provides a safe and smooth ride.

The rail is available in three colors as standard, light grey, white or gun metal, but can actually be supplied in any color you may want. Likewise, the seat upholstery is available in a choice of 6 different colors, so you can rest assured that the 2000 will not only suit you and your home, but also your décor.

• Handicare Freecurve Riverside Stair Lifts

The Handicare Freecurve stairlift has been developed with the highest of standards in mind. The Freecurve is tailor made for your staircase and can be customized to suit your individual needs.
 
The unique, single rail design is not only slim and unobtrusive, but you can also choose from a selection of colors to match your home and décor.

The Handicare Freecurve seat also comes in a wide variety of styles and choices as well. You can choose from our Classic, Elegance or Alliance seats to further customize your lift.  

The Freecurve also has powered and automatic options to suit your exact needs. The almost limitless customizable options for the Freecurve make it the perfect stairlift for any home.

San Francisco Handicare Straight stairlifts

Straight stairlifts are the basic type of lift, designed for staircases without curves or bends. But, with a variety of different models, features and options engineered to meet the varying needs of our many users, you’ll find that our stairlifts are anything but basic!

Some of the straight stairlifts we offer include the 1000 model, which includes foldaway seat, armrests and footrest to take up less space when not in use. The 1000 uses a slim, unobtrusive rail and offers 6 seat colors to choose from. Because it’s made with long-lasting, durable materials, the 1000 can also be used outdoors or upgraded to the more robust 1000XXL model.

The Simplicity/950 stairlift is an economical option that still boasts the same quality and reliability as all of our other Handicare products. It features an ergonomic control designed in collaboration with occupational therapists, so it’s easy to operate even for those who suffer from rheumatism, arthritis and other joint problems. For an upgrade, the Simplicity+/950+ stairlift offers all of the benefits of the Simplicity/950 with the ability to upgrade to powered options.

Finally, the Xclusive is the newest addition to our straight stairlift family, offering a much more stylish design coupled with ergonomic seat features.

Our outdoor stairlifts are easy to use, but have a lockable key switch to prevent unauthorized users from having access.
